Georgia-Rose Brown – Australian Gymnast


Georgia lives in Melbourne and is studying to become a Chiropractor. Georgia-Rose Brown trains at the National Centre of Excellence in Melbourne coached temporarily by Peggy Liddick. Brown is aiming to represent Australia at her second Commonwealth Games in 2018. 

Georgia, like other Australian Gymnasts  wears equilibras™ e-flips™ as pre and post performance footwear.  Georgia says “it is really important I utilise every edge I can get and equillibras™ are definitely part of my repertoire.”

Synopsis of Sporting Profile

Georgia has been competing internationally as a senior Australian Gymnastic since 2011. The below list of International appearances is impressive. Amongst her major achievements are;


> World Championships – 2011, 2014, 2015. Her best in the 2014 All around final where she finished in 21st
Commonwealth Games 2014 – part of the Team Silver Medal result
Best National performance – 2011 Australian Championships
Best International performance -2014 Pacific Rim Championships
Georgia-Rose was selected as a travelling reserve for the London 2012 Olympic Games
Georgia has made a strong start to 2017 in International competition returning home with a bronze on bars at both the AGF Trophy and the Doha World Cup.

    Why did you become a gymnast?

    I started when I was 6 years old. My brother was a gymnast so this became my start point.

    You have been competing internationally since 2011 at the senior level what drives you to maintain the required training discipline?

    My motto is ‘never give up’ which I am living out daily.

    There are many famous female gymnasts that have ‘graced’ the floor over decades of Olympic gymnastics. Who is your most admired?

    Russian legend, Svetlana Khorkina, who ranks first among top female medallists at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships by total medals won (20).

    What are your favourite all time movies?

    Princess Diaries, Mrs Doubtfire

    What is your favourite sports team?

    All Blacks Rugby Union team

    What is your favourite gymnastics event and hardest skill to have learnt?

    Uneven bars. Double tuck dismount of the beam
